Synopsis

A collection of 15 one-minute shorts from various creators in Japan's animation industry. The title AniKuri15 is short for "anime" and "creators." Season One Shinji Kimura (Studio 4°C art director on Steamboy) made "Attack of Higashimachi 2nd Borough." Shōjirō Nishimi, a character designer at Studio 4°C known for Tekkonkinkreet, created "Invasion from Space - Hiroshi's Case." Akemi Hayashi from Gainax, who designed characters for Fruits Basket, made "From the Other Side of the Tears." Osamu Kobayashi worked on mecha design for Madhouse's Gungrave and submitted "The Aromatic Tea Blues." Yasufumi Soejima, a CG director at Gonzo who worked on Last Exile, contributed "Blaze Man." Season Two Atsushi Takeuchi, a mecha designer at Production I.G from Ghost in the Shell, made "Wandaba Kiss." Mamoru Oshii, the director of Ghost in the Shell, created "Project Mermaid." Kazuto Nakazawa from Studio 4°C, known for his work on Kill Bill, submitted "yurururu ~Everyday Edition~." Ranji Murata and Tatsuya Yabuta, both from Gonzo, collaborated on "Gyrosopter." Tobira Oda and Yasuyuki Shimizu (a key animator on Naruto films at Studio 4°C) teamed up for "Colonel Sports." Season Three* Michael Arias, who directed Tekkonkinkreet at Studio 4°C, made "Okkakekko." Makoto Shinkai created "A Gathering of Cats." Shōji Kawamori, director of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?, submitted "Project Omega." Mahiro Maeda from Gonzo, known for Gankutsuou, made "Princess Onmitsu." Satoshi Kon closed out the series with "Good Morning."
