Chen Shi leaves his village for Luoyang to track down his older brother—someone he only learned existed after his mother died. Problem is, he has no name, no face, nothing to go on. When he arrives in the city broke and desperate, he somehow ends up landing a job at the Dali Court working under Vice Minister Li Bing, who happens to be a large white cat.
