Synopsis

Humanity's locked in a desperate fight against the Neuroi, an alien force threatening everything. Human girls with magical powers—witches—are on the front lines of the war, but morale's taking a hit as the conflict drags on. That's when Grace Maitland Steward, a veteran witch still active in the military, pitches an unconventional idea: music could be the key to turning things around. Her superiors shoot down the proposal, so Grace decides to prove them wrong. She partners with Aila Paivikki Linnamaa and Eleonore Giovanna Gassion, two witches who've already made names for themselves as singers, and together they recruit other witches to form the League of Nations Air Force's Music Squadron. The recruitment drive lands seven solid candidates. The standout, though, is Virginia Robertson—a 14-year-old with zero military background who somehow possesses an ability the others can't ignore.
