Synopsis

Hana Ichinose is a shy, insecure 17-year-old who's just transferred to a new school—and she's already dreading it. She's a "slow start," meaning she repeated a year, so everyone in her class is younger than her. It's not exactly the fresh start she was hoping for. Then her teacher announces it's her birthday during introductions, which kind of throws her into the spotlight. But it also gives her an opening. She ends up connecting with three classmates: Tamate, a loud and outgoing girl; Kanmuri, who's quiet and on the smaller side; and Eiko, one of the popular girls. Despite her nerves, Hana decides not to pass up the chance to actually make some friends. What starts as awkward first meetings turns into the kind of friendships that genuinely change her life.
