Synopsis

Smartphone apps are everywhere, but most people don't know about the creatures living inside them—Appmon, or "Appli Monsters." These are AI lifeforms that exist in the space between our world and the digital realm, capable of thinking and acting on their own. When a powerful rogue AI called Leviathan infects Appmon with a virus and starts hacking into systems across the internet, it gains the ability to manipulate the human world from the net itself. A boy named Haru Shinkai gets his hands on an Appli Drive and uses it to summon Gatchmon, a search app monster, to fight back against the threat.
