Synopsis

Ten years ago, when VRMMOs were booming, a game called "Kiwame Quest" launched with revolutionary ambitions. It featured an absurd number of branching storylines and pushed realism to the extreme—lifelike NPCs, perfect sensory simulation, the works. But the game was too realistic, and interest in VRMMOs tanked soon after. Fast forward to now. High school student Hiroshi Yuuki uses full-dive RPGs to escape after a traumatic accident years back. When he can't find his usual game, he stumbles into a shop run by the charming Reona Kisaragi. She convinces him to buy Kiwame Quest so they can play together. At first, Hiroshi's blown away by how immersive it is. Then reality hits—the game is relentlessly brutal, arguably worse than his actual life. His situation spirals fast, and there's no restarting or taking things back. But he keeps logging in anyway, despite hating it more each time. His only way out? Actually beat the damn game.
