It's 1989 in Hinomoto, a nation still recovering from World War II. Thanks to rapid technological advancement, things have turned around pretty dramatically. New aircraft, gas engines, and geomagnetic tech have completely changed how people get around—so much so that trains have basically become obsolete, replaced by flashier, more efficient options. But there's a group of spirited girls determined to save the railroads and bring them back to their former glory. These "Raillords" are basically humanoid control systems for their respective rail lines, and they're anything but ready to give up. They gather in Ohitoyo City for a big summit, where Suzushiro from Manoka Railways takes the lead. Working together, they set out to revitalize the entire railroad industry and kick off what they're calling a "new railroad age."
