Synopsis

Spring arrives in Moomin Valley, and with Snufkin finally back from his winter travels, everyone starts waking up. The Moomins find a fancy silk hat lying around and can't bring themselves to throw it out—it's too nice to just toss. They figure they'll track down the owner eventually. While goofing around with his friends, Moomin decides to hide inside the hat. When they find him, everyone gets a nasty shock: he's transformed into something completely grotesque. Looking at himself in the mirror, Moomin barely recognizes the creature staring back. After freaking out his friends and family with his new appearance, Moomin returns to normal and decides the hat's gotta go. He and Snufkin toss it into the river and watch it float away, both wondering who it belonged to and whether they'll ever see the owner again.
