Taku Morisaki, a high school student living in Kochi, gets an urgent call from his friend Yutaka Matsuno asking him to come to school right away. When he arrives, Matsuno introduces him to Rikako Muto, a transfer student from Tokyo. Rikako's got the looks and the grades to back it up, plus she's athletic—but her terrible attitude means she's basically friendless except for Matsuno and one girl from her class. Everything changes after a random moment during a class trip. Taku suddenly becomes way more involved in Rikako's world, and Matsuno's not happy about it. Now Taku's caught between keeping his friendship with Matsuno intact and dealing with his own feelings for Rikako. He has to figure out why this girl with a messy past is getting under his skin so badly.
