Synopsis

Rokurou Okajima is a typical salaryman grinding away at corporate life until a business deal in Thailand goes south and he gets taken hostage by the Lagoon Company—a crew of pirate mercenaries. When his company refuses to pay for his release, Rokurou makes a crazy decision: he joins them instead of trying to escape. Life in the pirate crew means relocating to Roanapur, a lawless city where crime is basically the economy and one wrong move gets you killed. Rokurou has to navigate constant friction with Revy, his hot-headed and gun-happy crewmate, while also dealing with whatever crime syndicates decide to get in their way. He's stuck trying to leave his old life behind while keeping up with the Lagoon Company's illegal operations. The real challenge isn't just survival—it's figuring out how to make the brutal calls that come with this life without losing sight of who he actually is.
