Synopsis

In 2005, an alien race called the Zonders burrow up from underground and begin attacking Tokyo. Earth's only real defense is a secret agency called the Gutsy Geoid Guard—3G for short—and their giant robot GaoGaiGar. The robot's pilot is Guy Shishio, a former astronaut who barely survived a Zonder crash landing two years earlier. A mysterious robot lion named Galeon saved him from the wreckage and dragged him back to Earth, where Guy's father Leo used Galeon's technology to rebuild his son as a cyborg. Now, with Galeon at its core, GaoGaiGar protects the planet alongside a team of transforming robots and a kid named Mamoru who can purify Zonder cores. Mamoru also seems to have some strange connection to Galeon.
