Aoba's a girl who's really into building robot models. She was living with her grandmother until her grandmother dies, and that's when things get weird—she gets kidnapped and taken to some secret base. There she finds out about this massive robot, and it turns out there's a whole operation going on where piloted robots are fighting creatures called Ancient-Jinki out in the Grand Savanna. But nobody's telling her what any of it actually means. Determined to get some answers, Aoba throws herself into working at the base, hoping that if she can become a pilot herself, she'll finally figure out what's really going on.
