The Mikadono sisters—Miwa, Niko, and Kazuki—are the Three Royals of Saika Academy, each a prodigy in their own right: shogi, karate, and theater. Problem is, they've completely drifted apart. Between their individual pursuits and the pressure that comes with being that talented, they've basically become strangers living in the same house. Then there's Yuu Ayase. His mom, Subaru, was a legendary actress who went to Saika back in the day—and she was kind of a big deal. Yuu. isn't built the same way. He's got no special talent to speak of, which is a disappointment to pretty much everyone who knew his mother. But he transfers to Saika anyway with one goal in mind: to make good on her dying wish that he create a real, functional family. As luck would have it, the Mikadono patriarch was close friends with Subaru, so he takes Yuu in. Now Yuu's stuck living with three cold, distant sisters who want nothing to do with him. He's no genius, but what he lacks in talent, he makes up for in genuine, awkward sincerity. And somehow, that might be exactly what they need to find their way back to each other.
