When she first found the masks, she thought of them as companions—something close to friends. But the masks were perceptive. They picked up on her vulnerabilities, her fears, the soft spots in her psyche. Gradually, they began to manipulate her, corrupting what had been a genuinely good heart and twisting it into something darker. By the end, there was no clear line between the girl and the masks anymore. They fused together completely. She became Menreiki.
