Jihan is the Crown Prince of Tidat, a fictional island nation in the Indonesian archipelago. He's a former Yomi member and ex-disciple of Silcardo Jenazad, and older brother to Radin Tidat Lona.
Physically, he's a young man with dark skin and long wavy black hair pulled back, typically dressed in traditional Tidat clothing—flowing wraps with a decorative sash and royal jewelry that makes his status unmistakable. When he fought Kenichi, he went barefoot.
Growing up in a palace surrounded by people who literally let him win out of respect or fear obviously shaped him. Jihan tried to be fair about it, but that kind of power dynamic created an aristocratic worldview he couldn't really escape. He views the world as split between himself and a select few like Miu—the 0.1% destined for royalty—and literally everyone else, dismissing them as worthless commoners. He's got contempt for revolutionists especially, seeing Kenichi as someone fighting against his own predetermined place.
That said, he's not completely heartless. He seems genuinely attached to his servants, particularly his youngest maid Sham, and actually cares about his people back home. What's interesting is how much his loyalty to Jenazad and the Satsujin Ken philosophy outweighs his royal pride—he was willing to kill Miu as an enemy practitioner rather than spare her as one of the elite.
His biggest flaw is pure arrogance. He refuses help from anyone, viewing it as beneath him, which nearly got him killed by Jenazad himself and later when Kenichi tried to save him from an avalanche. Being a king, in his mind, meant never needing anyone.
Losing to Kenichi genuinely changed him. He mellowed out, started acknowledging people's actual worth, and even developed a sense of humor about his situation—especially owning three restaurant franchises after working off a debt. He apologized for his condescending attitude and Kenichi noticed he'd "grown up," though the core arrogance was still there. Working for the guy who showed him mercy for basically the first time in his life forced him to become more considerate and humble.
He's serious about repaying debts. After the restaurant saved him from starving, he worked there for six months and helped turn it into a successful chain. He carries genuine guilt about the hardships his sister endured because of him, and he's loyal enough to his people that he stopped them from rioting and literally slapped a gun out of Colonel Gaja's hands to save his life, telling him he understood his loyalty and forgave him for straying.
Even Jenazad's death affected him deeply. Despite his master trying to kill him, Jihan mourned him and said he respected him not just as a teacher but as a father figure—and shed a tear over it.
