Izou is a swordsman who caught Shura's attention during his travels across various kingdoms. Shura recruited him as part of a prime minister's initiative, and he's become known for his wandering samurai aesthetic—traditional clothes, a leaf perpetually in his mouth, and typically closed eyes that reveal unusually black sclera when open.
What sets him apart from the other Wild Hunt members is his lack of interest in sexual gratification. Instead, he's driven by an intense bloodlust that he justifies as necessary to feed his sword, Kotetsu. He claims the blade requires regular sustenance from combat and bloodshed.
