She took over the team after challenging the previous captain, Madeleine, to a duel—a move born from frustration with their defensive, heavy-tank-focused strategy. She wanted to shake things up with faster, more aggressive tactics using light and cavalry tanks instead. Madeleine wasn't interested in listening, so the challenge became necessary.
The transition was rough. Plenty of team members left, and even months into her captaincy she was still dealing with a team that didn't really trust her. Things were tense enough that she agreed to a practice match against Ooarai, partly hoping a competitive game might help reset team dynamics.
She's a big admirer of Shiho Nishizumi and what the Nishizumi style represents—which probably influenced her thinking about how the team should evolve in the first place.
