Velvet Crowe grew up in the village of Aball in Eastgand, but her childhood was defined by tragedy. She lost both parents early on, which left her older sister Celica raising her and their younger brother Laphicet. Things only got worse when Celica died too, forcing their sister's husband to step in as their caretaker. Despite all that loss and pain, Velvet somehow managed to become a bright, resilient teenager with a fierce protective streak for the family she had left.
