Ibara is the main character of the series and leader of the Coppelion Rescue Unit. She's a senior to both Aoi Fukasaku and Taeko Nomura, and she's known for her superhuman strength—useful work when you're running rescue missions in a nuclear disaster zone.
In the field, Ibara carries a modified Ludger .22 caliber Ruger and sometimes a Ground-to-Air rocket launcher called the "Hand Arrow" (not to be confused with the Stinger). Her most critical tool, though, is Aether—a serum containing genetic material that keeps survivors stable until the JGSDF can extract them by helicopter. She's constantly pushing Vice-Principal Mishima to produce more of it, since supplies run short fast in their line of work.
Her production code is C-2. The name Ibara itself means either "rose" or "thorn," while Naruse, her given name, carries the meaning of bringing prosperity.
