Mikoto eventually reveals that Hii has a death sign on her face—the same kind that marked Chisato's father. This discovery prompts the three psychics to stick around her, though they quickly find themselves dealing with a constant barrage of freak accidents in her orbit. Her bad luck is so extreme that it basically functions like its own psychic ability.
