Mikoto was the wife of Fugaku and mother to Sasuke and Itachi. She played the warmer parental role in the household—Sasuke was noticeably closer to her than to their father, and she made a point of reassuring him that Fugaku actually cared deeply, even if he didn't show it the way she did. She had a gift for reading people; despite being Itachi's mother, she sensed something was off about him long before the truth came out.
She and Fugaku were both killed during the Uchiha Clan Massacre, slaughtered by Itachi himself.
