Esther first crosses paths with the DA while on the run. She ducks into a hospital and stumbles into Accelerator's room, hoping to pump him for information about Last Order. Problem is, he's got his powers cranked up to block out sound entirely while he reads, so he has no idea she's even there. Her pursuers catch up before she can get a word in and pin her down. They tie her up with belts and gag her, but when Anti-Skill shows up to take her in for questioning—Accelerator's apparently concerned enough about the photo of Last Order she's carrying to intervene—things get chaotic enough that she manages to slip free in the confusion.
