Saturn first showed up in "A Secret Sphere of Influence!" as a minor character at the episode's end, where he and other Team Galactic grunts criticized Jessie, James, and Meowth for botching the theft of the Adamant Orb and framing Nando instead.
He became more significant in "Journey to the Unown!" when he appeared alongside his Bronzor and successfully stole a cube guarded by Unown in the Solaceon Ruins, bringing it back to Team Galactic HQ. Later in "Enter Galactic!", Saturn exposed that cube to meteorites in Veilstone City, which transformed it into the Spear Key. This episode marked his first real confrontation with Ash's group—he and some grunts tried to steal the meteorites but got caught in a battle. Saturn fought Brock's Croagunk with his Toxicroak, and although neither side won decisively, Team Galactic still retreated empty-handed.
As one of Cyrus's commanders, Saturn became increasingly involved in major operations. He appeared in "Losing Its Lustrous" and "Double Team Turnover!" alongside Jupiter and Mars, helping orchestrate the theft of both the Lustrous and Adamant Orbs from Celestic Town. Later he was put in charge of excavating the Spear Pillar on Mt. Coronet in "Saving the World From Ruins!"
Saturn's arc culminated in the three-part Team Galactic finale. During the final battle in "The Battle Finale of Legend!", his Toxicroak fell to Croagunk, and he witnessed Cyrus slip through a portal created by Dialga and Palkia—a moment that made him realize Cyrus had been using him and the other commanders all along. Saturn was arrested by Looker afterward, and unlike Mars, he seemed to fully accept that Team Galactic was done for.
