Yachiyo works at the restaurant alongside the other staff and is 20 years old. She's rarely seen without her katana, which she says her parents—both blacksmiths—made for her. She genuinely doesn't realize that her blade makes people nervous, including Souta, though it's pretty obvious to everyone else.
She's devoted to Kyouko, to put it mildly. She'll get genuinely upset if anyone tries to feed Kyouko or suggest taking her away, with one notable exception: she trusts Satou enough to let him handle feeding duties. He's clearly not thrilled about being singled out as "trustworthy" in this specific context.
