Adele von Ascham is the series' protagonist, though she wasn't always. She's the reincarnation of Misato Kurihara, a Japanese girl from Earth, and spent her early childhood with no memory of her past life—until age ten, when a sudden headache brought everything flooding back. The Creator then explained nanomachines to her, and she realized she could communicate with them directly.
Her abilities are frankly overpowered. Her thought wave output sits at roughly half that of an elder dragon, making her about 6800 times stronger than an average human in that regard. Her authority level for nanomachine control is 5, while normal creatures max out around level 1.
Trying to live a normal life, Adele enrolled at Eckland Academy under her birth name, but keeping a lid on her powers proved impossible. Rather than deal with the fallout, she ditched school and left home entirely. Under the alias Mile, she signed up as a Hunter and got into the Hunters' Prep School through staff recommendations—where she met the other members of her party, the Crimson Vow.
