If his master shows any sign of weakness or cowardice, Kaede's immediate response is to beat some sense into him. It's harsh, but that's how he operates.
In a fight, Kaede is deceptively fast and pulls off devastating techniques like a Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku-style hurricane kick. His signature move is the Safety Shutter: Grand Explosion Immolating Dark Murder—a massive fire attack that erupts from his sword in the shape of a dragon and absolutely consumes whoever he's fighting. It's the kind of thing that ends battles.
Interestingly, for someone this powerful and committed to his methods, Kaede has one genuine weakness: watching his master take a direct hit from that ultimate attack of his. It's the only thing that really gets to him.
