Natsuhi was a kunoichi from Hoshigakure, married to Hotarubi and mother of Sumaru.
She and Hotarubi both underwent their village's brutal star training years ago. Witnessing the toll it took, they made the difficult choice to steal the star itself to stop future trainees from suffering the same fate. The Third Hoshikage caught them, but instead of executing them, essentially exiled them—though with a catch. They were stationed outside the village to keep watch over it, bound by their promise to end the star training program.
Before leaving, Natsuhi and Hotarubi made a heartbreaking request of the Hoshikage: tell their young son Sumaru that they were dead. It was meant to spare him the pain of knowing they'd abandoned him. They left him Hotarubi's necklace as a keepsake, the only connection he'd have to them.
