He is Hikojirou's grandfather and the founder of the Kaburagi Antiques store, which he managed for awhile before leaving it in the care of his grandson to travel the world. He holds a lot of affection for Hisako, whom he used to give small gifts to in order to boost her morale when she worked her previous job where she was being harassed; he is also the one who offered her the job of shop assistant at Kaburagi Antiques, and she calls him "grandfather".
