Marie Itami is a mink Beastman in BNA: Brand New Animal who's basically the social glue holding Anima City together. She's well-connected throughout the city and deeply embedded in its culture, making her an invaluable guide when Michiru first arrives and has no idea what's going on. Marie shows up multiple times to help Michiru get her bearings and navigate life as a newly transformed Beastman.
The running joke is that nobody seems to remember she's a mink—she constantly gets mistaken for a weasel or mongoose instead, which clearly bugs her.
