Dr. Quincy T. Quackenpoker is a Pokémon Watcher who appeared in the episode "The Wacky Watcher!" He's best known as one of Tracey's heroes—a seasoned researcher with 50 years of experience under his belt. Tracey actually got to meet him while traveling through the Orange Islands with Ash and Misty, which was a pretty big deal for him.
When they found Quackenpoker, he was deeply into studying Magikarp on Rind Island. He'd spent the last three years tagging them with colored bands on their tails so he could track individuals over time. Like Tracey, he's meticulous about his work—documenting everything with a camera and tripod while also sketching his observations.
The two of them hit it off immediately. Tracey got roped into helping count how many Magikarp evolved into Gyarados during the seasonal migration, and together they discovered something neat: more Magikarp evolved that year than in any previous season they'd recorded. It was a solid example of the kind of hands-on fieldwork that clearly inspired Tracey's own approach to Pokémon watching.
