Akemitsu Akagami
Akemitsu is the main character of the manga Temple. He works as a monk at Mikazuki Temple alongside its other residents, though he's also the son of the infamously corrupt Akagami family—a connection that follows him everywhere.
Growing up, he idolized his father's lifestyle until he realized just how immoral the guy actually was. That's what kicked off Akemitsu's whole mission to distance himself from his family's reputation. He threw himself into his studies and made a point of avoiding women, hoping to build a clean, respectable life for himself. It didn't really work—women still pegged him as a pervert just for carrying the Akagami name.
Everything changed one night when he met someone he genuinely fell for. But he couldn't go through with it. Rather than risk repeating his family's mistakes or giving in to temptation, he decided the only real way forward was monastic life. Becoming a monk was his way of wiping the slate clean and leaving all that baggage behind.
