Kozue is a spaced-out kid who got scouted into idol work basically out of nowhere. She's got this fairy-like vibe going—innocent, easily confused, and perpetually sleepy. The girl will just doze off mid-conversation without warning. When she does talk, she draws out her vowels and writes everything in hiragana, which gives her lines this dreamy, unpolished quality that somehow fits her whole deal.
She clearly grew up sheltered; before becoming an idol, she seems to have barely interacted with the wider world. That said, she's naturally curious about basically everything, even if she doesn't quite get how normal stuff works.
In the Cinderella Girls Theater shorts, she's developed a sweet sister-like bond with Aya Kirino despite them having almost nothing in common on the surface. They connected over Aya's secret doll collection, and fans call this pairing "Yousei and Onee-san."
The Starlight Stage game shows her first meeting with the producer happening while she was literally sleeping outside. When he woke her up, she mentioned dreaming about something warm and sparkly. He pitched idol work as a way to make people smile, and she was apparently down with it.
She's not great at communicating normally—during the Sun High Gold event, Mio Honda had to tag along to help translate Kozue's drowsy rambling into something people could actually understand. With Mio's help, she talks in actual sentences, though she still keeps the hiragana and elongated vowels.
