Johannes leads the Shadow Angels as their eldest member, though his actual appearance remains a complete mystery—his face is hidden behind a metal mask, and his entire body is wrapped in robes and chains. He's missing what appears to be the lower half of his body, which is why he perpetually hangs suspended from the ceiling of Atlandia's main altar.
The English dub of Genesis of Aquarion originally had Randy Tallman lined up to voice Johannes, but after Tallman's death, Vic Mignogna took over the role.
