Mario Fernández Castaño was a Spanish police officer with the Cuerpo Nacional de Policía who got pulled into Leon S. Kennedy's mission when the US agent arrived in Spain looking for Ashley Graham, the President's daughter. In fall 2004, Fernández's chief assigned him to back up a rookie cop and help Leon with his investigation and rescue operation across the country.
