Satan
About three centuries ago, Satan's entire tribe was wiped out by a rogue demon—until Lailah (Emilia's mother) found him barely alive and nursed him back to health. While caring for him, she shared a lot of knowledge that would eventually shape his future. Before she left, she gave him a purple crescent-shaped crystal as a parting gift.
Over the following centuries, Satan used what he'd learned from Lailah to unite the fragmented demon race under his rule. He rose to become the Demon Lord, built an army, and established a proper empire—no small feat. He planted that crystal Lailah gave him in a garden within his castle, and it grew into a massive tree.
For all those hundreds of years, Satan had no clue what the crystal actually was: a fragment of Yesod.
