Joel's a widowed old man who spent his days tending to a rose garden—pretty much the main thing keeping him occupied these days. What's weird about his situation is that a vampire actually lives with him, except Joel can't see her. Yeah, he's got a supernatural roommate he's completely unaware of. She's there in the house, but as far as he knows, he's just living alone with his flowers.
