Born as Azami Nakamura, he was a standout student at Tootsuki Culinary Academy during its celebrated Golden Age, living in the prestigious Polar Star Dormitory. He eventually earned a position as First Seat of the Elite Ten Council before graduating.
After school, Azami married into the Nakiri family—specifically the daughter of patriarch Senzaemon Nakiri—and was formally adopted as a mukoyoshi, taking on the Nakiri name. The couple had a daughter together, Erina.
But something went wrong. At some point before the main story begins, Senzaemon cast him out completely. Azami was banned from any involvement with Tootsuki or its business interests, and the family essentially erased him from the record. His years at the academy, his achievements, his place in the family—all of it was scrubbed away as if it never happened. The only remnants of his existence are scattered newspaper clippings and whatever people still remember to whisper about him.
