Mayumi is a slim, short teenage girl with a boyish haircut. She typically wears the standard female school uniform, though in her dorm room—which she shares with Chiyo Kurihara—she usually opts for a white shirt instead.
The two are genuinely close. Mayumi's friendly nature comes through when she checks in on Chiyo during her down moments, and Chiyo leans on her for advice and emotional support. It's a solid friendship, though they're different in important ways. Mayumi avoids confrontation whenever possible, which means she's inadvertently come to rely on Chiyo for physical protection when things get tense.
Where they really diverge is in their interests.
