Hinoto is a kunoichi serving in Root, Konohagakure's elite Anbu faction. She's best known for a brief encounter with Kakashi Hatake when he and Yūgao Uzuki arrived at the Root chambers with orders to bring Danzō Shimura before the Third Hokage. While guarding the entrance alongside her partner Hinoe, Hinoto attempted to stop Kakashi—but he quickly overwhelmed her using his Sharingan and then extracted information about Kinoe's location through genjutsu.
As an Anbu member, Hinoto is presumed to be a capable fighter with solid skills in weaponry. She fights with both a sword and a bō staff. She has black hair worn in a ponytail, wears the standard Anbu uniform, carries a sword across her shoulder, and sports a feline-style mask. White pearl earrings complete her look.
