As a Yo-Kai, Jibanyan developed a dangerous habit of possessing people to throw themselves in front of trucks—a desperate attempt to relive his own tragic death after failing to do it himself. Nathan and Whisper eventually stopped him and offered him a place in their home, which he accepted. At first, Jibanyan was a troublemaking goofball who broke rules without thinking and nearly got himself exorcised before Nathan saved him. He shaped up pretty quickly after that, though.
He's got a real sweet tooth for chocolate bars and is obsessed with the boy band MeowKB. When it comes to defending his friends or facing down other Yo-Kai—like when Signibble showed up at Nathan's sleepover—Jibanyan doesn't hesitate to jump into a fight. He's also the type to act fast in an emergency, whether that means forcing a summoning when Nathan got possessed by Babblong or constantly trying to prove he's tougher than Robonyan, his robot doppelgänger.
