Jerga was King of Gairadite and led the Demon King Subjugation Battalion about two thousand years ago. He's best known as Kanon's predecessor and teacher—basically the hero before the hero.
His whole life got defined by tragedy. The Demon King of Tyranny, Anos Voldigoad, killed Jerga's wife and child, and he never really got over it. Even after Anos ended up sacrificing himself to stop the war, Jerga couldn't let go of his hatred. He was convinced the Demon King would come back someday, so he founded the Hero Academy with a pretty dark purpose: to make sure future generations inherited his grudge and kept fighting demonkind. In a lot of ways, Jerga's vendetta shaped everything that came after him.
