Mariah is a young meteorologist who runs a weather station positioned between Violet City and Azalea Town. She's best known for her unconventional approach to forecasting—she keeps a cluster of Hoppip in a cage and studies how they move and behave, convinced they possess some kind of sixth sense for predicting weather patterns before they happen.
She's also got an Oddish on her team that somehow believes it's a Hoppip. Despite the identity confusion, it's actually useful; she's trained it to track down her seven Hoppip whenever they get blown away by wind. It's a pretty creative solution to a recurring problem.
Mariah appeared in the episode "Foul Weather Friends" and has also shown up in Ash & Pikachu.
