Eddy is an underwater archaeologist who appears in "An Undersea Place to Call Home." He works alongside his wife Lindsey, and the two are best known for their expedition to locate the wreckage of the S.S. Cussler, a ship that sank after hitting an iceberg years ago.
The couple encountered Ash and his group while traveling the Muraille Coast. They'd stopped to help after Pikachu fell victim to a Skrelp's poison—Lindsey treated the Electric-type, and once introductions were made, Eddy and Lindsey invited everyone to join their dive. The group's enthusiasm apparently won them over.
During the actual expedition, Eddy stayed topside with Clemont and Bonnie, manning the boat while monitoring the submarine carrying Lindsey, Ash, and Serena as they searched the seafloor. He served as a critical support role, feeding Lindsey important information throughout the operation. When things went sideways thanks to Team Rocket interfering with the wreckage, Lindsey managed to stabilize the ship before it collapsed entirely—and Eddy quickly ordered the submarine back up to avoid the dangerous whirlpools that threatened the area.
By the end, Eddy was pretty satisfied. His long-held theory about water currents having pushed the S.S. Cussler toward the Muraille Coast finally had real evidence backing it up.
