Hina Hanetachi goes by the nickname Asunaro (翌桧) and is a second-year student in Oresuki. She's part of the school's Newspaper Club, where she spends most of her time gathering information and running around for articles.
On the surface, Asunaro comes across as cheerful and energetic—the helpful type you'd expect from a newspaper club member. But there's more going on beneath that friendly exterior.
She's been quietly obsessed with Joro for a while, constantly trying to get his attention whenever Himawari and Cosmos weren't hogging him. When those two finally dropped out of the picture after the first arc's climax, it seemed like her shot was coming. Then Pansy showed up, and suddenly Asunaro had a new rival to worry about.
Realizing she couldn't naturally become closest to Joro, Asunaro decided to take matters into her own hands. She's actually quite manipulative and sharp with words—smooth enough to blackmail Joro with threats of publishing false articles about him. She also sent carefully worded anonymous messages that discouraged basically everyone from participating in the Kabuten dance, and she even poisoned Sun to clear the field. All of it was calculated to make sure she'd get to dance with Joro and him alone.
