Ryo's a model who becomes completely obsessed with Tomie after seeing her. He's drawn to her beauty and develops genuine feelings for her, but she keeps rejecting his advances no matter how hard he tries. Eventually his obsession tips over into something darker—he snaps, kidnaps her, and holds her captive while inflicting brutal torture on her. It's basically his twisted way of trying to make her feel as hurt and rejected as he does.
