Olivier is a Paladin of the Chasseurs who's spent his career hunting vampires, convinced they're irredeemably evil. His faith drives this mission—he sees vampire extermination as a holy calling.
When Moreau's secret lab gets destroyed in the catacombs, Olivier shows up to assess the damage. He finds Roland Fortis, another Paladin, along with Maria and Georges already at the scene.
Olivier and Roland are close, though their friendship comes with tension. Olivier constantly hassles Roland over his casual attitude toward their beliefs, genuinely worried that Roland's recklessness is going to get him killed someday.
