This guy came up with a genuinely wild idea: what if money just. expired? Like food. He figured if currency couldn't be hoarded, wealth inequality would basically solve itself—no more rich vs. poor conflict because accumulating money wouldn't actually work.
So he actually built a functioning society around this concept. It worked too, at least in theory. No class divisions, no wealth gaps, just people using money that had an expiration date built in.
Of course, the authorities didn't love that. He got arrested before the whole thing could really take off, which pretty much killed the experiment. It's one of those "what if?" ideas that never got to fully prove itself either way.
