He's a Somei group member and one of the organization's most trusted operatives—essentially the leader's right hand and primary bodyguard. The president relies on him completely.
His defining relationship is with Yoshino. He's been her protector for around 16 years now, ever since his early twenties when he was specifically assigned to look after her because she reminded him of his own younger sister. Over time, that responsibility became something deeper. Yoshino trusts him more than anyone else in the group, and honestly, he seems to live for her welfare. When the higher-ups decided to send her to Tokyo, he broke down crying.
He's remained single by choice. The yakuza life means keeping your distance—he doesn't want to give anyone leverage over him by having a family to threaten or use against him.
Before all this, he was serious about rifle shooting back in university and stayed competitive with it. Even now, whenever he gets downtime, he heads to the Philippines to keep his marksmanship sharp.
