Echidna is the demon queen currently leading an invasion of humanity in hopes of finding the Philosopher's Stone. She got driven back after Leo Demonheart wrecked her army, but she's been working to rebuild her forces ever since.
She's got an average build, horns, knee-length pink hair, and striking golden eyes. Her style is pretty distinctive—red earrings, thigh-high boots, a red dress, and a black belt with a gold suspender. Despite looking like she's in her twenties, she's actually over 495 years old.
People tend to call her unruly and cruel, but that reputation doesn't really match who she actually is. Echidna's easygoing and cheerful most of the time, genuinely comfortable with live-and-let-live unless someone crosses her (though she'll occasionally joke about burning people alive when things drag on too long). Underneath all that, she's surprisingly kind and noble. Her whole goal with the Philosopher's Stone isn't power or conquest—she wants to create a peaceful home for demons where they can live without constant fighting and bloodshed. Unlike previous demon leaders, she actually hates needless violence. During the human world invasion, she explicitly ordered her forces to avoid killing and occupy territories peacefully just to keep casualties down.
Her troops matter to her. She makes a genuine effort to respect them, personally thanking even low-ranking soldiers for their work. She once threw a private dinner for Lord Onyx just to meet and thank him properly, new recruit or not. In public she maintains a commander's authority, but she clearly worries about her generals on a personal level—especially Shutina, her second-in-command and oldest friend.
Echidna's willing to destroy humanity if that's what it takes to get the stone, but she harbors no real hatred for humans. She doesn't blame them for seeing her army as villains, treats everyone with respect regardless of background, and would happily recruit any human who wanted to join her cause. Leo Demonheart is the only exception. He single-handedly decimated her forces, and she absolutely refuses to accept him into her ranks. Hearing his name gets her fired up enough to blast him with fire magic on sight. That said, she doesn't actually hate him—she gets that he was just defending his people.
She's smart and commanding, but she's got a goofy side too. It comes out especially when she's drinking, though she can snap back to serious mode instantly if things get heavy.
