Kuuya runs the Gamagama Aquarium, though you wouldn't necessarily guess it from his expression. He comes off as gruff and checked-out at first glance, but he actually knows his stuff and takes the work seriously. The problem is the aquarium's chronically understaffed, so he's perpetually exhausted from covering way too many shifts.
He's got an awkward thing going with women around his own age—he actively avoids making eye contact when talking to them, which makes those interactions pretty uncomfortable. But put him in front of a tank and he's solid.
One thing that gets him through the long days: Kukuru's grandmother's homemade plum wine. He's genuinely into it.
